Job Requirements

Cogir Senior Living is looking for a Server to join their team at Briarfield Gardens in Kitchener.

• Previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors is preferred
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items
• Must be able to stand and walk for the majority of the shift
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
• Must have a current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS) or be willing to obtain one upon hire

Key Responsibilities

As a Server, you will provide friendly meal service to residents and guests while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment.

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required
• Assist with cleaning dishware and cutlery at the end of each dining service
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area
• Assist with catering and actively participate in special occasions and theme events
• Assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees
• Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
• Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures
• Respect and promote Resident Rights & Responsibilities
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required
• Participate in the Quality Improvement Program
• Uphold and promote the organization’s values, ethics, morality, and integrity
• Complete all other tasks as assigned
