SABIS International School Aljada – Sharjah is looking for a Primary Science Teacher to join their teaching team.
- Able to teach using provided lesson plans and the SABIS® point system
- Comfortable marking exams according to department schedules and materials
- Willing to discuss student disciplinary and academic performance with the Academic Quality Controller (AQC) and Head of Department (HOD)
- Able to support and motivate academically low-performing students
- Ready to assist with additional school duties (testing, substituting, organizing lunches and buses, crowd and traffic control, and other administrative tasks)
- Willing to prepare and participate in student life activities and events
- Able to attend training sessions as requested by school management
Key Responsibilities
- Teach classes using provided lesson plans (and develop plans based on pacing charts when needed) to ensure proper application of the SABIS® point system
- Mark exams related to the taught subject in accordance with the schedule and material provided by the department
- Discuss student disciplinary and academic performance concerns with the AQC and HOD as needed
- Implement the SABIS® Point System to ensure an environment conducive to learning
- Proctor exams as required and ensure a properly managed test environment
- Provide support, guidance, and motivation to academically low-performing students
- Develop and/or follow up on external exam preparation when applicable
- Assist with additional school duties, including testing students, substituting for absent teachers, organizing students for lunches and buses, controlling crowd and traffic, and other administrative tasks
- Prepare and participate in student life activities and events (e.g. art, open houses, physical education) in coordination with the Student Life Coordinator (SLC)
- Attend training sessions when needed to enhance understanding of the SABIS® system and improve student performance
- Perform other related tasks or projects as delegated by School Management
