Job Requirements
Hustler Transit Ltd. is looking for dependable drivers who take safety and professionalism seriously.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: No experience required – we provide training
- Language: English
- Licenses/Certifications:
- AZ Class License
- Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks)
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Key Responsibilities
As a Long Haul Truck Driver, your role will include:
- Operating and driving straight or articulated trucks for long-distance hauling
- Planning and adjusting routes with GPS/navigation to optimize time and fuel use
- Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Loading, unloading, tarping, and securing cargo
- Keeping accurate records of hours, fuel use, distance traveled, and cargo
- Performing basic roadside emergency repairs and brake adjustments
- Obtaining permits and paperwork for international cargo routes
- Driving solo or in convoy/team setups
- Assisting and coaching junior colleagues in best practices
Work Environment
The role involves:
- Work Locations: Long-distance routes across Canada and the U.S.
- Conditions: Extended hours, overnight travel, and diverse road/weather conditions
- Nature of Work: Independent, safety-driven, and physically demanding when loading/unloading
