Job Requirements
West Coast Bulk Logistics (WCBL) is seeking candidates who:
- Hold a current NZ Class 5 licence with a clean driving record
- Have minimum 2 years’ experience driving heavy vehicles (bulk/mining materials preferred)
- Possess certificates for operating earthmoving fleet (skid steer, articulated or heavy rigid vehicles)
- Understand NZTA logbook requirements, fatigue management, and work-time compliance
- Can ensure vehicle compliance standards (CoF, Road User Charges, load restraint)
- Are reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to follow SOPs
- Experience in port operations, quarry, civils, or mineral sands industry (an advantage)
- Hold a First Aid Certificate (desirable)
Key Responsibilities
As a Truck Driver / Earthworks Operator, you will:
- Safely operate heavy vehicles (truck & trailer units or B-trains) to transport mineral sands from mine to port
- Operate earthworks machinery at the Nine Mile Mine site as required
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and complete NZTA-mandated logbooks
- Ensure compliance with CoF, RUC, and load security regulations
- Conduct regular checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance of vehicles/equipment
- Work in line with company SOPs and health & safety procedures
- Promote a strong safety culture and support a safe work environment
