Job Requirements
Oxford Frozen Foods is looking for Industrial Plant Cleaners to join their team in Oxford, Nova Scotia.
Ideal candidates:
- Have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- Have 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience
- Must be able to speak English
- Must have or be willing to obtain a WHMIS Certificate
- Must pass a criminal record check
- Must be physically fit and able to handle heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs)
- Must be comfortable working in wet/damp conditions and all weather conditions
- Must be able to work under pressure with repetitive tasks
- Must provide their own steel-toed safety boots
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Key Responsibilities
As an Industrial Plant Cleaner, you will maintain production areas to high standards of cleanliness and safety, operate industrial cleaning equipment, remove debris and refuse, perform routine checks, and follow workplace and food-handling procedures.
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse
- Perform safety and security checks
- Clean and maintain equipment
- Apply food safety and handling skills
- Work in a factory/plant environment
- Complete cleaning tasks in production areas
