Job Requirements
The Western Cape Government Department of Health and Wellness is looking for a Cleaner at Murraysburg Hospital.
- Must have basic literacy and numeracy
- Must have appropriate experience in domestic and health cleaning services
- Must be physically able to lift and/or move heavy objects and supplies
- Must be able to operate machinery and equipment
- Must have good interpersonal skills
- Must have knowledge of correct methods of handling and disposal of refuse/waste products
- Must be able to adhere to policies and cleaning procedures
- Must have knowledge of legislation and policies of the Department of Health and Wellness relevant to cleaning practices

Key Responsibilities
As a Cleaner, you will maintain clean, safe, and hygienic spaces while supporting housekeeping duties and properly handling cleaning materials and equipment.
- Perform general cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance (dust, sweep, polish, scrub, mop, clean windows, walls, equipment, machinery, and refuse removal)
- Ensure effective waste management and linen management
- Ensure effective and efficient utilization and storage of cleaning materials and equipment
- Provide optimal support to the supervisor and colleagues with general housekeeping duties and services
- Adhere to general hygienic and safe environment standards and procedures
