Job Requirements

The Backyard Club is looking for a reliable, friendly, and organized Front Desk Reception Staff member to support their new premium indoor pickleball, fitness, and social club in Vaughan.

Ideal candidates:

• Have previous reception, hospitality, fitness club, recreation facility, or customer service experience (preferred)
• Are warm, friendly, and welcoming
• Are reliable and consistent
• Are comfortable speaking with members and guests
• Are hands-on and willing to help wherever needed
• Are clean, organized, and detail-oriented
• Can manage busy periods and player flow calmly
• Have strong communication and people skills
• Are comfortable using computers, POS systems, booking software, and basic email tools
• Can multitask and stay calm during busy times
• Have an interest in pickleball, fitness, wellness, or hospitality (asset)
• First Aid / CPR certification is an asset but not required

Key Responsibilities

As a Front Desk Reception Staff member, you will welcome and assist members and guests, manage check-ins, bookings, guest passes, and inquiries, support daily club operations and open play activities, maintain reception and common areas, report facility issues, and assist with events and programs.

• Welcome members, guests, partners, and event attendees
• Check members and guests in using the club’s booking/membership system
• Answer questions about memberships, court bookings, open play, events, guest passes, club rules, and amenities
• Provide friendly support in person, by phone, and by email
• Manage check-ins, guest waivers, guest passes, day passes, and basic account updates
• Assist with court booking questions, cancellations, payments, and member inquiries
• Support daily opening and/or closing procedures
• Keep the reception area organized, clean, and presentable
• Help manage open play check-ins, player flow, rotations, waitlists, and court usage
• Communicate open play rules and escalate issues to management when needed
• Complete regular walk-throughs of courts, lounges, bathrooms, gym areas, and common spaces
• Restock basic supplies (towels, toilet paper, soap, cups, etc.)
• Report maintenance, cleanliness, safety, or member issues
• Assist with tournaments, leagues, clinics, open houses, and events
