Job Requirements
Sanctum Care Group Inc. is looking for Home Support Workers / Care Aids to join their team at Sanctum 1.5 in Saskatoon.
Ideal candidates:
- Must have a degree, diploma, or certificate in social work, care aid, addictions, or a related field
- Must have 1–2 years of relevant experience
- Must retain active CPR and First Aid certification
- Must retain Food Safety Certificate
- Must retain TLR Certificate
- Naloxone Training is an asset
- Must have knowledge of Harm Reduction & Trauma and Violence Informed Care
- Must have experience or knowledge in Mental Health & Addictions
- Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity
- Must have strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
- Must have strong decision-making skills in varying situations
Key Responsibilities
As a Home Support Worker / Care Aid, you will provide patient-centred support with personal care, hygiene, meals, medication adherence, household tasks, and daily living needs while building positive relationships, responding to changing situations, and following established care instructions and procedures.
- Provide personal care and hygiene support
- Assist with and support clients with medication adherence
- Build rapport with residents and provide therapeutic counselling
- Follow medical instructions carefully and consistently
- Assist with meal preparation and planning
- Perform household duties such as cleaning and maintenance
- Manage any unanticipated events or unstable situations
- Work within a patient-centred harm reduction care model
About Sanctum Care Group Inc.
Sanctum 1.5 is a transitional care home for pregnant women who are at high risk of contracting HIV, are HIV positive, or are in active substance use. The program offers a supportive home for women, facilitates mother-infant bonding, and aims to reduce child apprehensions at birth. Clients may also be affected by mental illness, addiction, poverty, homelessness, or other psycho-social factors.

- Day Shifts: 07:30 – 16:00
- Evening Shifts: 15:30 – 00:00
- Night Shifts: 23:30 – 08:00
