Nutmeg is looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to join their team in Whangarei, Northland.
The candidate will be reliable, physically fit, communicative, and comfortable with early starts and demanding farm work.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with milking and identifying sickness in dairy cattle while milking
- Feed out supplements to the cows using a tractor and trailer
- Manage grazing and pasture by setting up and taking down temporary electric fences
- Check for power faults in electric fences
- Assist with farm equipment maintenance
- Drive tractors and farm equipment
- Assist with making silage
- Perform general farm work including repairing fences, spraying weeds, replacing fence insulators, and gate handles
- Assist with maintenance of the water supply system
- Shift irrigation and perform irrigation system maintenance
- Clean the milking machine and maintain hygiene of the dairy shed
- Assist with collecting colostrum from freshly calved cows and feeding it to newborn calves
- Assist with picking up newborn calves from the paddock and bringing them to the appropriate sheds
- Undertake general farm duties as required by the employer
