Job Requirements

Kent Building Supplies is looking for a Plumbing Associate to join their team in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Ideal candidates:

• Must have excellent communication skills and be a team player
• Must have sales and customer service experience
• Must have a high level of attention to detail
• Must be able to lift 55 lbs
• Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends (rotating shifts)
• Must be able to learn and operate the computer system (D635) used to process orders
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is considered an asset

Key Responsibilities

As a Plumbing Associate, you will assist customers with their plumbing projects by providing product knowledge, recommendations, quotes, and material lists while supporting sales, resolving customer concerns, maintaining safety and service standards, and staying informed about products and market trends.

• Drive sales through customer engagement, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge
• Clarify and understand customers’ needs and guide them to the best solutions for their projects
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions
• Take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions
• Produce quotes, material lists, and follow up with customers
• Demonstrate high standards of safety and customer service
• Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently
• Continually learn about products and market conditions
